This is one of my favourites of the posters I still own.

I remember first seeing this image in an 80s magazine called ‘The House of Hammer’, which featured rather cool black and white comic strip versions of the classic Hammer films.  These were really well illustrated and I have still got what I think is a full set of these magazines in a drawer somewhere back in England.  The back covers featured original Hammer poster images and I remember being particularly taken with this one.   I also really liked the film, which starred a young Oliver Reed, of all people, as the title character, to whom bad things happen when the moon is full.

This is a very collectible poster, which I have displayed in my mini 6 poster ‘Belgian Hammer’ gallery collection.   There are a fair number of reprints of this poster around these days, but I am pretty sure this one is original (not least because I have owned it for over 25 years).    I picked this up at a movie memorabilia fair in London from a dealer who specialised in Belgian posters.

There were a lot of different poster images used in different markets for this film, mostly variants of the monster-with-girl theme.  I also have a t-shirt with the US poster design for the same film (which I am wearing on my home page).  I found this on redbubble.com, where you can find a large number of movie poster designs if you search hard enough.    I bought a few of these – not quite the same as owning the original posters but fun to have.  (Although I must admit I have received a few funny looks when out and about wearing this t-shirt!)
