I’ve not seen any Marx Brothers movies in years, but I used to love them when they came on TV.
Above is a Spanish herald for arguably their best and most famous movie, A Day At The Races. This was the even more successful follow-up to their hit A Night At The Opera, and featured Groucho and Chico’s famous “Tootsie Frootsie Ice Cream” sketch. Both of these movies featured more of a story structure than their previous zany comedies, with scenes tested in front of live audiences before filming to hone the comic timing.
These movies subsequently also became album titles for the rock band Queen, both of which I still have on vinyl. (The first band I ever saw live!).
The other herald is from the Marx’ later movie Go West. This was also tested in front of a live audience pre-filming. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this one.
Both of these original and very rare heralds are available for sale here.
