Hitchcock himself coined the advertising slogan for this late career classic:  “The Birds is coming!”

He also (allegedly) took pleasure in torturing leading lady Tippi Hedren by arranging for live birds to be thrown at her face after she had rejected his sexual advances. So it may be that some of her apparent terror at the bird attacks is real.

The movie is based on a short story by Daphne De Maurier. One of the best things about it is that it doesn’t provide any explanation for the spate of violent bird attacks in a small town, which only serves to up the sense of dread, as does the lack of any incidental music, with menace being created by sound effects and silence.

I previously had the UK quad above for a 1960s re-release which I sold, but I used the funds from that to buy a rare original release French ‘moyenne’, with artwork by Boris Grinsson, which is essentially a re-imagining of the same image, but with better illustration IMHO.  This is now framed and on my wall.

I also have a similar Spanish herald displayed nearby as part of my extensive Hitchcock herald collection.
