“I’ll be back…!” It is one of the most famous line in cinema history, as endlessly recycled by star Arnold Schwarzenegger in his subsequent movies.

James Cameron’s 1984 sci-fi was made on a limited budget compared to its sequels, but it remains for me by far the best of the Terminator series.

Before Arnie started playing a ‘good’ cyborg in the endless reboots and retcons, here he is just a relentless and remorseless killing machine. He wasn’t first choice for the role (at one point OJ Simpson (!) was considered), but he made it his own, and it made his career.

Co-star Linda Hamilton ended up marrying and divorcing Cameron, but she still came back too for the sequels.

Personally, I like the Japanese version the best of all The Terminator poster designs out there, it has a nice cyber-punk vibe to it I think. This is a ‘B3’ size poster, with text on the back. These posters are also known as ‘nakazuri’ (‘hanging inside’) and would have been used inside trains and buses. It always amazes me how much text gets crammed onto Japanese ads in these formats, but the idea is that people read them during their commute.

This one is, somewhat reluctantly, for sale here.
