Get Carter is one of the most iconic of all British crime movies, and one of Michael Caine’s most famous roles.
Its unremittingly gritty, as London gangster Carter travels North to right various wrongs and encounters a range of shady characters from his past, few of whom end up alive at the end of the movie. The ending is also both famously bleak and ironic.
Its all very British and very 70s. So quite why Sylvester Stallone would choose to remake it is beyond me, but avoid his shockingly bad version at all costs!
Posters for Get Carter are very collectible. I don’t have any, but this Spanish ‘gula’ (guide) is an A4 version of the poster design that was used in Spain, and is one of the most striking images from the film. This is for sale here.
