I’m not a huge follower or fan of Spanish director Pedro Almadovar.

The only one of his movies I remember definitely seeing is his very strange thriller The Skin I Live In (heavily inspired by Eyes Without A Face).

I don’t think I’ve ever seen 1999 comedy-drama All About My Mother. It deals with some fairly heavy subjects (AIDS, existentialism etc). Shot in Barcelona, it features a relatively early role for Penelope Cruz, before Hollywood came calling. The movie took home the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

This poster artwork (by Madrid illustrator Oscar Marine) is quite renowned and collectible. It was designed “to epitomize the very image of beauty, simplicity, and femininity”.  I sold this French grande version awhile ago.
