I remember one thing and one thing only about the 1959 version of Jules Verne’s classic novel.

I saw in on TV years ago when I was a kid and my sole recollection is being very disturbed by a scene where the baddie is found to have killed and eaten another character’s pet duck. We don’t actually see the deed, but I remember the sight of a trail of feathers being very traumatic!

Other than that, any recollections I might have of the movie are lost in the mists of time.

This is a very striking French grande poster, with great artwork by the prolific Boris Grinsson. I sold this at auction awhile ago.
