“We’re not in Kansas anymore. We must be over the rainbow…”
I’m probably more familiar with that line because one of my favourite rock groups, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, used it as their intro tape on their live shows and live albums than from The Wizard Of Oz itself.
I think I’ve seen the movie years ago on TV, and of course have seen the “We’re off to see the wizard” musical number many times on Hollywood highlights reels. It is, of course, one of the most famous movies ever made, and the one more than any others for which Judy Garland will forever be remembered.
Memorabilia for The Wizard Of Oz is understandably rare and phenomenally expensive. So I was lucky to pick up these two original Spanish heralds (postcard-sized flyers) recently, These are from the very first release of the movie in Spain in 1945.
